8,500 passengers stranded in ports due to TS Urduja

About 8,500 passengers are stranded while more than 200 families have already been evacuated due to Tropical Storm Urduja.

According to the Philippine Coast Guard, passengers in ports of Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region cannot travel.

More than 100 passengers are also temporarily staying in the Tabaco City National High school after being stranded in the ports of the city.

Meanwhile, about 2,000 passengers are stranded in Matnog Port, Sorsogon due to the strong winds, and large waves caused by Urduja.

In Mindanao, Lagonlong River in Misamis Oriental has already overflowed and more than 200 families were evacuated from Lagonglong, and Balingasag.

A mother and a child were also wounded due to a landslide in Congressman Mate Avenue, Tacloban City.
