Authorities started their investigation regarding the fire tragedy of a slippers’ factory in Valenzuela.

72 of its workers are confirmed dead amid being trapped inside the burning building.

Valenzuela City Director Sr. Supt. Roderick Armamento, said documents are already in the hands of investigators about the background and design of the destroyed factory of Kentex manufacturing Inc. in Brgy. Ugong.

Armamento mentioned that the Bureau of Fire Protection will be joining the PNP with its investigation.

Based on initial reports, the factory only had a few doors with two-layers of windows.  Only one side could be open to avoid theft.

Only skulls were recovered from the workers killed in the said fire incident.

This was confirmed by PNP OIC Deputy Director Leonardo Espina during a press conference in Valenzuela this morning.

Espina, said that they already formed a task force that will investigate the tragedy and conduct a hard process in determining the identity of the victims.

Espina added that the investigator responsible in solving  the Ozone dicso fire is already retired and that’s why the CIDG could be included in the said task force.

Since it is hard to investigate the fire, Espina mentioned whatever is available should be counted. with DRZH Kristine De la Cruz
