Seven generals and senior officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) were promoted to their next higher rank in a single ceremony at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo Monday afternoon, October 26.
President Benigno S. Aquino III, Commander-In-Chief of AFP, approved the ad interim appointment of the seven AFP officers.
AFP Chief of Staff General Hernando Iriberri presided over their donning of ranks at the Hall of Flags, General Headquarters Building in Camp Aguinaldo at 3:30 p.m.
Leading the list was Major General Andre M Costales Jr. who received his new rank after assuming the position of AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Education and Training, J8, of AFP last September 2.
Also among those promoted to Major General rank are M/Gen Guillermo A. Molina Jr., AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans, J5, and M/Gen Rodolfo D. Santiago, Commandant of Command and General Staff College (CGSC).
The list also included former Colonels who are now Brigadier Generals. These are: B/Gen Archimedes H. Viaje (Corps Professor AFP); B/Gen Arleen N. Gorreon (Assistant Commandant of CGSC); B/Gen Diosdado G. Respecio (Commander of Communications, Electronics and Information Systems Service AFP); and B/Gen Rafael A.
