Five drivers and a conductor tested positive of illegal drugs as the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency started conducting random drug tests in various bus terminals in Quezon and Pasay cities.
The random drug test is part of PDEA’s Oplan Huli Week.
Whoever is tested positive of illegal drugs will be barred from travelling.
Outside of Metro Manila, the Land Transportation Office also conducted mandatory drug testing to at least 300 bus drivers in Baguio City.
Before the start of Holy Week, the PDEA already implemented ‘Oplan Harabas’ to test drivers of public utility vehicles, particularly taxi cabs all over the Philippines, of illegal drugs.
