The fans of 2NE1 were given an early Christmas gift by the YG-all female group as they made a surprise performance in the recently concluded 2015 Mnet’s MAMA Music Awards, held in Hong Kong.
The girls’ Dara, Bom, and Minzy joined their fellow 2NE1 member CL on stage as they performed their monster hits’ “Fire” and “I Am the Best.”
CL has been busy with her solo music career and was invited by the said music awards to perform her newly release single “Hello Bi*ches.” The crowd went wild when suddenly the lights went out and emerged the other three girls.
In line with the said performance, fans started to wonder if this is an indication that the group is bound for a comeback, especially with the appearance of Park Bom, who went into hiatus after being accused of smuggling illegal drugs to South Korea.
However, “Blackjacks” will have to wait a little longer as according to a representative of YG Entertainment, there are no plans of a comeback for 2NE1 and that CL will be focusing on her impending US debut.
Meanwhile, Bigbang and EXO took home most of the major awards in this year’s MAMAs. During Bigbang’s Taeyang’s speech, he mentioned that it may take a while before the five of them will be together again in the MAMA stage, hinting that maybe, some of the boys are bound for their mandatory military service.
