24 police officers dismissed due to low performance in the anti-illegal drug campaign

The Philippine National Police (PNP) dismissed 24 chiefs of police and police officers-in-charge in the MIMAROPA region due to their ‘no or low performance’ in the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign.

According to P/Supt. Imelda Tolentino, a public information officer of the MIMAROPA Police Regional Office, Regional Director C/Supt. Emmanuel Licup approved the recommendation of the oversight committee on illegal drugs.

The dismissed police chiefs are from the police stations in the following areas:

  • Bongabong, Bulalacao, San Teodoro, and Mansalay in Oriental Mindoro.
  • Looc, Lubang, Calintaan, Paluan, and Abra De Ilog in Occidental Mindoro.
  • Cruz in Marinduque
  • Alcantara, Calatrava, San Agustin, Sta. Fe, and Ferrol in Romblon.
  • Aborlan, Agutaya, Balabac, Bataraza, Brooke’s Point, Culion, Linapacan, Quezon, and Irawan in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

Meanwhile, 53 other police officers are warned to ‘triple their efforts on their anti-criminality operations especially on illegal drugs’ or else they will be relieved from their posts.
