2 dead, 14 injured in vehicular collision in Quezon City

At least two individuals were killed and 14 were injured due to a collision between a passenger jeep and a 10-wheeler truck on Wednesday, Sept. 18, along Mindanao Ave., in Quezon City.

Jay Pamplina, a service crew member of a fast food chain, was declared ‘dead on the spot’ while another unidentified victim passed away in the hospital.

Quezon City Police District Traffic Sector 6 Investigator PS/Sgt. Andy Sotto said that the passenger jeep driven by Lewelyn Jaud was en route to North Ave. when it took a u-turn and collided with a speeding truck driven by Herjun Panero.

Panero, who suffered a head injury because of the incident, faces charges for reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property with multiple homicide and multiple physical injuries.

The vehicular collision happened amidst heavy rains in Quezon City.
