About 105 Overseas Filipino Workers have returned to the Philippines from the United Arab Emirates via Philippines Airlines Flight #PR657.

The said OFWs were repatriated after staying in UAE for years without proper documentation. According to reports, they were also victims of illegal recruitment or abusive employers in Abu Dhabi.

Sara Arriola, Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs, said that this is the largest batch of OFWs that were sent home to the Philippines this 2017 under the Balik Pilipinas, Balik Kabuhayan Program.

The said OFWs will each receive $ 100 dollars cash assistance and can also apply for the Php 15,000 livelihood assistance grant that is provided by the government.
